I’ve been having lots of memories of visits to Peter and family in Basildon whenever I was in Tilbury on a ship and again when I was working in Chelmsford in 1989. I remember we went to look at a second hand MGB-GT together on one of those visits…….in the dark under a streetlight! And yes, I bought it as we both thought it looked great (in the artificial light!!) Inevitably the rust did for it eventually! The other wonderful memory is when Peter and Janet visited us in Pembrokeshire on their way back from their Tintagel foray……the stories they had to tell about their stay at the Camelot hotel had in stitches for hours! Always a good laugh whenever we got together; and there was always a decent pint of beer somewhere to be sampled with subsequent tasting notes to compare. Nice memories Uncle Pete.
